Incoming Portland police Chief James Craig wants to arm the Portland Police Department with Tasers.

• Despite the manufacturer’s label of “non-lethal,” Tasers have been involved in 376+ deaths.
• Tasers have a long history of abuse by law enforcement, including subjecting targets to multiple shocks while in restraints, and against individuals posing no physical threat — for verbal non-compliance.

The U.N Committee Against Torture has declared Taser use “a form of torture.”
