Dear cluster bomb campaigners:
If you are able to do so, please consider mobilizing your network to take part in a national call in day this coming Monday, May 12 in advance of global cluster bomb negotiations. Please feel free to modify the email below and distribute it to your e-list.
We have set up a website and a toll free phone number for the call in, as indicated below. You would be most welcome to drive people to our web page, or to cut and modify the content and use it on your own web page.

[subject]: Make a phone call, save a life! Join the national “Day after Mother’s Day Cluster Bomb Call-in” on Monday, May 12
No mother should lose her child to a cluster bomblet. Unfortunately, children are drawn to unexploded cluster submunitions thinking that they are toys. Children between the ages of 5-15 have accounted for almost half of the world’s cluster bomb casualties.
Because of their disproportionate harm to civilians, more than 100 governments, including all major NATO allies, will gather in Dublin, Ireland to negotiate a global treaty banning cluster bombs on May 19-30.
The U.S. government won’t be there, and it is actively working to undermine the treaty.
We need you to help send a message to the rest of the world that millions of Americans stand with the goal of preventing harm to children and others from cluster bombs.
Please call your senators today.
http://www.fcnl.org/weapons/may12_call.htm Ask them to co-sponsor the Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act (S.594/H.R.1755) before May 19—or as soon as possible.
Help generate more calls! Spread the word http://action.fcnl.org/taf/clusterscall/ to friends, family and co-workers.
