The theme of the Peace Action Maine Social and Political Action Booth at the Common Ground Fair, September 21-23 in Unity is Empowering People for Peace.

We will invite people to stop and talk with us about actions they can take to influence the peace process. We will have materials so that they can make posters to take with them or to leave with us for display. We will have sample posters of our own. Also on display will be a large wheel showing where our tax dollars are actually going. We will invite folks to make their own “ideal” wheel to demonstrate where tax dollars ought to go. Postcards will be available for writing to the Maine delegation.

We will provide an opportunity for a young people’s art contest, “What Would a Peaceful World Look Like?” There will be a small fee and sign-up for ages 7-14. We will display the entries on the PAM website. The winning piece will be hung in our new Congress Street space and will be displayed on the website.

Bumper Stickers and buttons will be on sale.

Common Ground Fair attendees will have the opportunity to become Peach Action Maine members or to renew their memberships.
