Sustainable Maine Alliance Sponsors Conference

We are excited to announce that Peace Action Maine and the student group SEA CHANGE will be sponsoring a Conference entitled Sustainable Maine: Turning Toward Peace Through Jobs and a Clean Environment at the University of Maine at Farmington on March 18, 2006.

Peace Action is building an alliance with colleagues in the labor and environmental movements. Our agenda includes issues such as: practical examples of economic conversion and new energy policies; eliminating economic incentives for war; green building and land use; environmental clean-up and jobs; organic farming; sustainable agriculture and local foods in Maine; public mass transit; and sustainable energy technologies.
