Peace Talk — Autumn 2006
The Quarterly Newsletter of Peace Action Maine
Jessica Eller began her employment with Peace Action Maine working jointly with the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space. The success of the Sustainable Maine Conference in March at the University of Maine at Farmington can be attributed to her talents at creating and implementing plans. She organized talented individuals from a cross-section of the community, including environmental and peace and justice interests. Jessica also successfully organized showings of the War Flower Exhibit around the state. The exhibit contains paintings and other art media depicting the possibilities of changing the U.S. focus from that of war to that of sustainability.
Jessica has accepted a position as office manager and classroom support for the new Friends School of Portland on Mackworth Island. She is sure to be an important asset to this new venture.
Peace Action Maine, in this time of transition, continues to rely on a committed board, the Action Committee and its many members and friends around Maine. We are looking forward to hiring a new executive director and support staff in the near future.
