Peace Talk — Autumn 2006

The Quarterly Newsletter of Peace Action Maine
Be Part of the Caribou World Cafe

On Saturday, October 7, 2006, members of Peace Action Maine and Physicians for Social Responsibility will join the peace and justice community in the Caribou region for a new experience. We will gather at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Caribou to communicate with each other using a new dialogue technique called The World Café. Others who have experienced this exciting method tell of glowing results as participants first share their ideas, then expand their visions as they build upon the ideas of others and make connections for further actions. We will listen, learn and leave with the assurance that we can and will have an important part to play as we live our commitments for a more just and peaceful world.

Melissa Boyd, Executive Director of Physicians for Social Responsibility, Akiba Mermey, of Peace Action Maine, Sally Breen, chair of Peace Action Maine, and Max Soucia of the UU Congregation of Caribou are excited to share The Caribou World Café with as many as possible. Please call the Peace Action Maine office at 772-0680 with your name and contact information if you can join us. We will all begin to explore new possibilities for more effective communication.
