Permaculture for Peace Cover Letter

Warm Greetings! 11/17/07

I am sending this letter from Portland Maine in hopes to raise some money for a small and inspiring project happening in Ghana January 2008. The project is called Permaculture for Peace and the goal is to build food gardens for the only free school in Buduburam Refugee Camp. I have been working closely with my friend Lisa Abregu whom was giving conflict resolution trainings in the camp last spring while completing her Masters Degree at University of Queensland in Australia. We are collaborating with an Australian NGO called Aliamos as well as the Self Help Initiative for Sustainable Development which is based in the camp.

We are planning to start the project this coming January and so far we have raised about $3000 USD! A small amount of money can go a long way for this project, and we would be so gratefully appreciative of any size donation that you may be able to give this holiday season. Attached is a description of the project so you can get a better idea of exactly what we are doing.
