The House Armed Services Committee is getting ready to mark-up the FY08 Defense Authorization bill at the end of this month.

The Strategic Forces Subcommittee is scheduled to take it up the week of April 23 and the full committee the week of April 30. Now is a great time to get letters and calls into Armed Services Committee members’ offices regarding opposition to RRW and new nukes.

So far, the House Energy and Water Appropriations Committee leadership has expressed more skepticism about the RRW program then the Armed Services Committee. However, even some supporters of the RRW in Congress are saying we should take it slow and reduce funds. So we’re in a decent spot right now, and grassroots pressure will definitely help!
