A Space For Peace

Mary Beth Sullivan

Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space

Monday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Meg Perry Center, 644 Congress St., Portland

Sponsored by Peace Action Maine

While the occupation of Iraq continues, and presidential candidates discuss plans to “increase” the number of troops in Afghanistan — and while the people take action to oppose the increased militarism at home and abroad — the Pentagon continues with its plans to develop the weapons systems the U.S. will be using in “future wars” — air-born lasers, anti-satellite weapons, systems that shoot in space and from space to earth — to control any battleground on earthā —

Join us for a video and discussion that will look at both the Pentagon plans, and the global movement working to oppose the weaponization and nuclearization of space.

We will examine what’s at the root of the U.S. drive toward endless war, and envision a future beyond militarism — a people’s plan for the survival of the planet.
